Others SUCCESS, the IMPACT?!!

Ayubowan! Today, Nabeeha Jameel has a very different sort of post lined up for you all, so get reading! ✨

Often, we feel that we are way behind in our lives. And with social media, to be honest, the guilt gets worse. We are constantly exposed to the success of others, our own age, and we always tend to feel that they are way ahead, or they are doing something we wanted to, we are happy for them, but deep down there will be a sense of self-disappointment. I am human, and so are you, we know these feelings, don’t we? And this post is not going to be all rainbows and sunshine, this post is going to be the truth.

With the rapid globalization and technological development that this world is facing, we should have found a cure to the virus by now honestly, never mind that, the people this generation have it difficult. With all the information that they are exposed to in this century, it isn’t one bit easy. We see people’s success flashed at our faces everyday and every minute, and when our own lives are not going to well, life just feels like it is leaving you behind a ton. Not like the people around us make it easy too, parents nag their children on how their friend’s children seem to somehow be doing better at school, people even rub their success on your face, literally, they just can’t wait to show off.” Mohammed’s son, have you seen his results? All A*! When will I be able to tell Mohamed that my son is doing better?” We hear it mom and dad, and trust us, we are trying as hard as we can, we will get there eventually. It breaks some people, so I highly request my readers to not comment on another’s not so successful events, we don’t know what they are going through, because you aren’t living his/her life, and keep your successes to yourself so that others don’t feel like they aren’t up to notch or cast the eye on you. I have honestly had a lot of personal instances where people had to just make my soul feel like it was a failure or a waste of space, I don’t know if people do it purposely or unintentionally, but either way, when you know a person’s life isn’t going too well, then please keep your success to yourself. I have had aunties who just cannot seem to stop boasting about their children, and gosh, does not it make me feel a bit inferior. “My daughter did this. She did that”. But I have learnt, and I have become stronger, not everything they say is the truth.

What we need to understand is that social media is an illusion, what we see is not what it truly is. People only choose to show you one side and that is the only side you see. Don’t nag your partner, children or parents to live up to the expectations that the online world has set, because they are completely fake. All we see on social media is the happy side and remember you can’t have a rainbow without a little bit of rain. Do not ever judge yourself based off what you see online, don’t feel inferior and most importantly don’t feel like you are a failure in your life. You are right where you are meant to be, this is where God and your destiny wanted you at this moment. If you don’t get something then don’t be upset, if you see someone else shining, remember, you will not shine, but you will sparkle and shimmer, because you are you. You are different, your life story is different and just because she or he gets something in their life at a certain age doesn’t mean you have to get it too, you will work, with undying passion and eventually you will get there. Your journey might take longer but longer journeys are exactly what people aren’t willing to make, so remember your location will be so much more unique! Don’t fret about your pace in life and your success, eventually, things will work out, Insha Allah (God Willing)! Just remember that there are better things waiting for you!

Hope you liked today’s post. Expect more posts like these in the future. One goal I have always had is to make a positive change in this world. The reason for me to start blogging was also because of this goal and I wanted a platform to share my art too. I want this blog to focus more on these factors, and make the life of others better, while at the same time entertain my readers! Let me know in the comments below if you want me to focus on other “real world” topics, leave the topics below, or you can even send the topics in through ‘Contact Us’!

Bye! Have a nice day!

  1. I can so relate to this post!

I think it’s Asian culture for parents to compare their children with other’s children. I don’t see that happening very often in the Western world. It imbibes the spirit of competition from such a young age into children and we grow up constantly comparing ourselves to others and feeling like we haven’t achieved much. Add to that social media and people posting about all the amazing things happening in their lives – it can give rise to so much envy.

I wish everyone would live life the way they want to without competing with other people. Celebrate everyone’s victories without comparing with your own life. 🙂

    1. Yes Asian Culture, has some really bad cultural aspects that need to be changed. When children do become soo competitive it is bad for themselves and the other person as well, I know people who just can’t seem to understand that they lost something. It’s come to that level where being 2nd is not enough and 1st is what everyone wants. Such a damaging attitude. I totally agree with you!💖

  2. Being real and honest helps everyone understand what is on your mind and why you just started writing like this. You can write and create in anyway you Nabeela. I know I liked this blog as it makes me agree with some of what you said. Competition among youth is good for them in my mind. This does foster great friendships at the same time. Thanks for the wake up to your talent that was hidden until now Nabeela. God bless you !
