A few days back, my friend and I were having an interesting conversation. Both of us just recently completed school. She said she’s moving onto the second chapter of her life and I said I am moving on to the fourth. Quite a contrast if you ask me. Her being one year older moving on to the second phase, and me being younger moving on to the fourth phase despite us being in very similar circumstances.
I haven’t blogged for a while now, my initial plans were to come on to this blog and rattle about everything that had happened ever since I disappeared. Later I changed my mind. I thought, why live through everything a second time? The past months weren’t terrible but were most certainly more downs than ups, more difficulties than ease, and a bit more sadness than happiness. I don’t want to dwell in the past anymore, I want to look toward the future.
I was born in Sri Lanka. I spent the first seven years of my life in Sri Lanka. The next five in Brunei. Another seven in Sri Lanka. Now, I am leaving Sri Lanka again. My friend based her chapters in life on her school life, while I am basing it on the different locations I have lived in.
Starting chapter four has been hard: a new environment, a different sort of lifestyle, and plenty of new people. Change for anyone is not easy but for me, it’s a teeny bit harder. Nevertheless, I am excited to see what the future holds, I am excited to see what Nabeeha Jameel becomes by the end of chapter four.
