This book I read on the recommendations of many friends. And I was certainly not let down.🤩

Katniss was born in district twelve1️⃣2️⃣, one of the districts under the rule of the capitol. Each year a boy and girl from each district are sent to face the Hunger Games. Having no father Katniss Everdeen provides for her family, by hunting in the woods with her friend Gale.

On the day of the reaping Prim’s (Katniss’s Sister) name is called, Katniss volunteers to face the Hunger Games on behalf of her, since she wants to protect her sister. The other tribute (contestant of the Hunger Games) from District 12 is a boy named Peeta Mellark, a baker’s son, who Katniss knows because of an incident that occurred in her past.

Both tributes are expected to go to the capitol by train where they will face the cheering crowds in the arena. Haymitch a man from District 12, who previously won the Hunger Games will be their mentor. In the pre- Hunger Games interview Peeta declares his love for Katniss. But does Katniss love him back?

This was one book that kept me interested all along.😄
